Culinary and Mixed Media Arts Specialty Camp Counselor

Camp Halfmoon, in Goffstown NH, is seeking Jr. Counselors and Counselors for the summer 2026 season! We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y.    Counselors will be assigned to a unit/group of same-age campers that best fits their preferences, experiences and the needs of the camp. They will work with fellow counselors to manage campers, facilitate and participate in camp activities, and build valuable peer to peer connections.    Responsibilities:  Plan and lead engaging culinary and mixed media arts activities for campers Teach basic cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and creative art-making skills Introduce and guide campers in the use of diverse mixed media materials, including paint, collage, textiles, clay, and recycled materials Supervise campers and ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive camp environment Prepare, organize, and maintain program materials, supplies, and activity spaces Support camper growth by encouraging creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage    Qualifications:  Coursework or experience in culinary arts, visual arts, art education, recreation, or a related field Must be willing and able to obtain CPR & First Aid Certifications, or currently hold  Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season  Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work    Position Specifics:  Specialty Camps run 7/6-7/10, 7/13-7/17, 7/27-7/31, 8/3-8/7, 8/10-8/14 and must be able to work most of the camp weeks  Pay range $12.75 - $15.00 hr depending upon experience    Year-round employment opportunities are available with the YMCA. We encourage you to join our dynamic summer team, and support youth in creating a great summer camp experience!
