Raw Material Buyer

    Position Summary The Senior Raw Material Buyer is responsible for leading both strategic and operational procurement activities for direct materials. This role ensures supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and supplier development, with a strong focus on managing international (overseas) suppliers. The position plays a critical role in supporting production and achieving business and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement of raw materials to ensure timely availability for production Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international (overseas) suppliers Lead negotiations for pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and logistics conditions Monitor and follow up on purchase orders to prevent supply disruptions Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, operations, quality, finance) Track and evaluate supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead times) Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in raw material procurement Proven experience working with international (overseas) suppliers Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills Experience in manufacturing environments preferred Requirements Bilingual (English/Spanish) – mandatory (not optional) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities Availability to travel (domestic and international) Location Requirement Based in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, with availability to travel as required
