Reporting Line:             Program Manager

Key Responsibilities

Service Stream has a long-term panel contract to deliver Yarra Valley Water’s Treatment Plant Improvements Program. Our Utilities division is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in wastewater treatment design and or construction. The role will deliver interesting YVW multi disciplined D&C projects up to ~$7.5M from inception to completion.

The role is based in Epping, with project sites in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
 

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for :

  • Supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of projects
  • Mechanical design, coordination and reviews
  • Coordination with other engineering disciplines
  • A limited amount of AutoCAD drafting is expected
  • Develop work packages and procurement for various suppliers and subcontractors
  • Managing, coordinating and monitoring others to undertake mechanical equipment installation / construction / site work
  • Client liaison and reporting ; and
  • Contract administration.

About You

  • Mechanical engineering degree ( honours ) or equivalent
  • Recent mechanical engineering graduates living in the northern suburbs of Melbourne are encouraged to apply
  • Up to 5 years’ water / wastewater treatment experience with a consultant or contractor
  • As an experienced mechanical engineer, you have history of delivering projects efficiently and to a high standard
  • Mechanical design experience, ideally in the wastewater industry
  • Mechanical equipment installation / construction / site experience, ideally in the wastewater industry
  • Effective communicator who enjoys working with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Competent in AutoCAD
  • Advanced math skills and the ability to understand "abstract" principles
  • Financial management experience (with oversight)
  • Ability to deal diligently, patiently, and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers ; and
  • Self-starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly.
