Key Responsibilities
Service Stream has a long-term panel contract to deliver Yarra Valley Water’s Treatment Plant Improvements Program. Our Utilities division is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in wastewater treatment design and or construction. The role will deliver interesting YVW multi disciplined D&C projects up to ~$7.5M from inception to completion.
The role is based in Epping, with project sites in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for :
- Supporting the Project Manager in the delivery of projects
- Mechanical design, coordination and reviews
- Coordination with other engineering disciplines
- A limited amount of AutoCAD drafting is expected
- Develop work packages and procurement for various suppliers and subcontractors
- Managing, coordinating and monitoring others to undertake mechanical equipment installation / construction / site work
- Client liaison and reporting ; and
- Contract administration.
About You
- Mechanical engineering degree ( honours ) or equivalent
- Recent mechanical engineering graduates living in the northern suburbs of Melbourne are encouraged to apply
- Up to 5 years’ water / wastewater treatment experience with a consultant or contractor
- As an experienced mechanical engineer, you have history of delivering projects efficiently and to a high standard
- Mechanical design experience, ideally in the wastewater industry
- Mechanical equipment installation / construction / site experience, ideally in the wastewater industry
- Effective communicator who enjoys working with suppliers and subcontractors
- Competent in AutoCAD
- Advanced math skills and the ability to understand "abstract" principles
- Financial management experience (with oversight)
- Ability to deal diligently, patiently, and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers ; and
- Self-starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly.
