Are you looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Senior Manager to be part of our ambitious, friendly Governance Services team.

You'll be working closely with the Jersey Head of Private Wealth on the ongoing development and management of the local Private Wealth services business.

You'll play a key role in providing a wide range of management and administration services to a highly motivated team responsible for a boutique quality portfolio of ultra-high net worth clients in the provision of trust, corporate and fiduciary services with exposure to varying jurisdictions with a broad range of asset classes.

About the role

  • Assist with take-on and administration of new business in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures, ensuring that the clients experience an efficient and professional service, working closely with the firm's transaction management team, who are responsible for the on-boarding process
  • Oversee the administration of the teams portfolio of trust and corporate clients, and ensure all client relationships and transactions are managed efficiently and to a high standard
  • Act as an authorised B signatory
  • Act as a role model to all Mourant Governance Services employees and assist the Head of Private Wealth with developing a team of motivated, highly proficient managers and administrators who act in accordance with the firm's values and in parallel to the excellent law firm service levels
  • Ensure that your team members have an understanding of what transactions they are working on, provide technical support and training to them as and when required
  • Ensure client expectations are properly managed and valuable relationships are nurtured, so as to maximise the reputation of the business in the market and potential for new opportunities
  • Effectively manage the day-to-day activities of the team to include timely and accurate processing of work, meeting transaction deadlines and cash collection
  • Ensure consistency of client service levels across team members and deal swiftly with any identified issues
  • Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures
  • Show an awareness of the integration of the Mourant Governance Services Jersey office and the wider Governance Services businesses in other jurisdictions operating in a unified, consistent and coordinated manner
  • Collaborate with the firm's Risk and Compliance team and keep abreast of all the relevant regulatory changes and industry standards
  • Assist with the ongoing quality control of data input and maintenance within the corporate services practice management database
  • Provide assistance with periodic reviews and accounting requirements of all client entities
  • Assist with the billing process in accordance with existing fee arrangements  
  • Maintain CPD levels required for your role

About you – essential requirements

This role requires:

  • Proven trust and corporate managerial and administration experience
  • You'll hold a relevant professional qualification (such as STEP or CGI)
  • Having knowledge of a Jersey company's, AML, economic substance and tax legislation and experience in the Jersey annual corporate and tax filings  
  • Having an understanding of identifying and managing all risks, in accordance with the regulatory framework
  • Having excellent communication and interpersonal skills to allow effective communication with colleagues, clients and intermediaries
  • Being able to build strong relationships and work meticulously as part of an expanding team
  • A positive, proactive and flexible approach is essential
  • Ability to manage people and assist them in prioritising tasks in order to meet demanding deadlines
