Building Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of building facilities and systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems as well as carrying out minor civil repair works to ensure smooth daily operations.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for completing Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities and coordinating special projects as assigned.
  • Perform general building repair works including replacing damaged ceilings, wall painting, plumbing repairs, and other related maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out general electrical troubleshooting for lighting systems, turnstiles, and other building-related electrical equipment.
  • Inspect buildings and facilities to ensure systems are functioning properly and identify any malfunctions or maintenance requirements.
  • Support and participate in the Facilities Emergency Response Team when required.
  • Prepare and process orders for replacement parts and ensure consumable stock levels are maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure all activities within the Building Engineering Services section comply with current Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and coordinate with engineers and vendors on special projects.
  • Assist in monitoring and supervising maintenance and repair works carried out by contractors.
  • Maintain 5S standards at designated areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
  • Assist in audit preparation and support audit-related activities.
  • Raise RFQs for rectification works, manage invoices, and handle tasks related to Purchase Orders (PO).

What You Need to Have

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Required electrical knowledge in order to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform minor civil repairing work.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to communicate with different levels of staff and stakeholders.
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn.

Must Have

  • Valid driving license.
  • Own transportation.
  • More than 3 years of relevant working experience in building maintenance or related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of building safety procedures.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Experience in commercial or residential building maintenance is an added advantage.
