About You

The Professor, Human–Computer Interaction will provide academic and research leadership within the School of Computing Technologies, contributing to RMIT’s global reputation for innovation, industry engagement and impactful research. The role focuses on advancing empirical and technical HCI research, including the development and evaluation of innovative digital and AI-enabled systems grounded in responsible and inclusive computing practices.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Leading internationally recognised research programs and securing external research funding.

  • Mentoring researchers and contributing to excellence in teaching, curriculum innovation and student learning.

  • Building strategic partnerships and contributing to the School’s leadership, growth and global reputation.

The successful candidate will be an established academic leader with a strong track record in Human–Computer Interaction research and collaboration across academia, industry and the broader community.

About You

You are an internationally recognised academic in Human–Computer Interaction or a related field, with a strong track record in research, external funding and academic leadership. You bring expertise in empirical and technical HCI, including the development and evaluation of innovative digital or AI-enabled systems, with a commitment to responsible and inclusive computing.

You will demonstrate experience mentoring researchers, supervising higher degree candidates, delivering high-quality teaching and building strong collaborations across academia and industry. Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills will enable you to contribute strategically to the growth and reputation of the School.

Qualifications
