Job Summary
To Support Technical Service Department with maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support of Yokogawa DCS & Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) at Customer Installation Base. The role also focuses on detailed Engineering, design & testing of Service Projects while complying with functional safety standards
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support for Yokogawa ProSafe-RS and CENTUM VP Systems at Client’s site.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities for safety systems. Monitor system health, diagnostics, and alarms to ensure system healthiness
- Troubleshooting & Incident Response
- Diagnose and resolve system faults, communication failures, and hardware/software issues
- Support emergency breakdowns and plant shutdown/startup activities
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Support with execution of Modification & Upgrade Projects
- Reporting to Lead Engineer/Service Manager on assigned activities
- Implement logic modifications and minor engineering updates
- Functional Safety Compliance & adherence to standards
- Execute system upgrades, patches, migrations, and expansion projects
- Ensure proper Management of Change (MoC) procedures are followed
- Support and execute loop checks, cause & effect validation, FAT/SAT, Testing & site commissioning activities
- Maintain system documentation including backups, as-built drawings, and logs
- Prepare service reports, incident reports, and maintenance records
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related field
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Yokogawa systems support and maintenance
- Strong field experience with ProSafe-RS System is preferable
- Safety Training Certificates (DOFS)
- TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (Preferable)
Key Competencies
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure during Turnaround and shutdowns
- Good communication skills for coordination with operations and maintenance teams
- Strong focus on safety, reliability, and compliance
Technical Skills
- Hands-on expertise in configuration and maintenance of Yokogawa ProSafe-RS & CENTUM System (AD Suite Experience would be an added advantage)
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Fieldbus)
- Familiarity with installation & troubleshooting of hardware components: controllers, I/O modules, marshalling panels, networking
- Project Report writing skills
Work Environment
- Primarily site-based role (Offshore & Onshore) in Yokogawa installations in Qatar
- Requires on-call support or emergency response availability
