Job Description

Business Enabling

  • Contribute to strategic discussions concerning the company and evaluate alternatives, set up company’s goals and participate in development of ideas for the progress of business with strong IT-connection, represent IT in board meetings and execute the company strategy.

IT Strategy

  • Execute IT strategy based on local and regional business strategy and global IT strategy (in co-operation with local business, regional business, central/regional IT).
  • Ensure that the needs and demands of the business are met. Set up an IT roadmap based on the local demand in line with the regional ITM strategy. 
  • Ensure IT and business is aligned at country/region level.  Define and manage IT landscape, long term system portfolio and methods in order to achieve synergies, efficiency, and standardization and deliver results

Financial Management 

  • IT budget responsibility for the country’s IT budget. 
  • Take part in company’s operative planning and decision making process which impacts budget. 
  • Represent company with official entities and business partners. 
  • Ensure achievement of financial objectives (adherence to local and central budget targets). 
  • Ensure local demands are being met cost-effectively by combination of local and central solutions. 
  • Manage balance between cost optimization/reduction, fulfilment of business requirements, and business risk exposure. 
  • Ensure transparency in pricing/performance/projects.
  • Develop business cases (IT related) for projects. 
  • Ensure consistent financial planning and monitoring by implementing financial management methods in agreement with the HQ standards.
  • Negotiate SLAs and contracts with internal and external partner.

Personnel Management                                 

  • Implement definition of roles and responsibilities and ensure continual optimization.
  • Establish and manage the IT-Support organization for business areas. 
  • Develop IT organization, manage recruitment, and oversee personnel development (training requirements, career counseling, job rotation, internal communication and motivation, etc.) and set up an environment of leadership based of the MBFS values. 
  • Develop career plans for potential employees based on LEAD and make decision on employee compensation. 
  • Review local IT organization and production depth on regular basis based on maturity of the organization.
  • Lead problem solving and resolve conflicting situations with team members

Demand Management, IT-Project & Portfolio Management, Business Consulting     

  • Develop new/enhance existing system landscapes in the markets in context of projects and system release according to Daimler standards. 
    Monitor and track planning, building and rollout phases of IT project portfolio. 
  • Steer, support, supervise and manage IT projects, groups and committees, ensure periodic reporting.  
  • Support and consult processes, IT applications, systems and services with business partner. Responsible for allocating and committing resources to company projects on behalf of IT, balancing and prioritizing business needs.
  • Ensure consistent service delivery / service availability / SLA fulfilment.

     

Sourcing and supplier management

  • Define sourcing strategy for the supported systems and services. 
  • Manage and plan resources and ensure comprehensive information to personnel and business partners. Manage choice of strategic (long term) suppliers and ensure agreed standards are adhered to and that service levels are maintained through service level agreements with external providers. 
  • Supervise contract negotiations, aligned with legal and procurement departments  wherever it’s needed. Manage (renewal) annual agreements, SLA’s, KPI reporting and escalations and service improvement plan, track vendor competitiveness. 
  • Execute decisions on benchmarking and right sourcing.

Information Security and Data Protection, Risk & Compliance         

  • Implement, execute and monitor IT Security concepts based on global Mercedes-Benz IT & ITF standards. Implement appropriate company defaults about data protection and data security. 
  • Maintain ethical standards in accordance with Mercedes-Benz AG Policies and the Company's compliance Guidelines and Policies including anti-Bribery and all relevant competition law .

IT Operation

  • Ensure stable, robust and scalable IT-enterprise with consideration of cost-efficiency and cost transparency. Plan, control and monitor the IT operation and escalation management. 
  • Ensure compliant IT operations, adequate application and infrastructure portfolio and IT roadmap based on Daimler standards. 
  • Assure that local requirements are implemented in a cost efficient manner by combining central and local services. Control, benchmark and optimize the IT operation.
  • Graduate or post graduate degree in Information Technology or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of business experience in IT (plan/build/run) 
  • High degree of business and process knowledge in the field of vehicle sales and after sales
  • Management experience in IT (strategy development, financial planning and controlling)
  • IT Service Management (Business Requirements, IT Services, SLAs etc.)
  • Led major international projects
  • Worked on intercultural projects and/or  with teams
  • Contract negotiations with internal and external suppliers
