Job Summary:

Oversees purchasing, inventory, and procurement operations to enforce institutional guidelines and support standardization, cost reduction across functions, and compliance to procurement policies.

Job Description:

  • Work with University departments to establish RFx specifications. This includes Requests for Bids, Request for Proposals, Requests for Qualifications, and Requests for Information.
  • Sets and maintains RFx timelines for advertising and opening of bids and proposals, posts RFx to public UM website.
  • Coordinates public bid openings.
  • Reviews contracts, quotes, and bids for adherence to state and university procurement law, policies, and procedures.
  • Creates and maintains necessary records related to each RFx in accordance with policies and procedudres .
  • Submits purchases to various state oversight agencies for approval.
  • Informs and instructs University faculty and staff on state procurement law and policy and University procurement policies and procedures.
  • Stays up-to-date on changes to public procurement laws and procedures.
  • Defines, establishes and implements procedures and methods of operations to more effectively utilize resources.
  • Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of a staff and resolves personnel issues.
  • Acts in place of Procurement Manager when needed.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Professional Procurement Certification (CMPA, CPPB, NIGP-CPP) preferred

Compensation:

$62,441.60 - $93,641.60
