Position: Manager of Fleet Operations
Location: Tonawanda, NY
Compensation $90,000 - $100,000/annually, based on experience
What We Are Looking For
NOCO is seeking a Manager of Fleet Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of NOCO’s Fleet Maintenance facilities and fleet of vehicles. Regular duties include coordinating, scheduling and auditing of vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers to ensure safe and reliable transportation of fuel products across New York State. The Manager of Fleet Operations will be involved in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of Fleet Maintenance Technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce is able to meet customer expectations.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the operation of maintenance facilities and fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, compliant with DOT regulations, and operate efficiently.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime, ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of the fleet.
- Assists in the budget process and manages costs.
- Implement cost-effective measures to control and reduce fleet expenses and implement strategies for the efficient operation of the fleet.
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Fuels Operations, you will plan and oversee the acquisition, replacement, and disposal of vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to vehicle operation, licensing, and emissions.
- Manage relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and other vendors based on direction from Vice President of Fuels Operations.
- Utilize fleet management software and tools to track vehicle utilization, maintenance records, and expenses.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for operational improvement.
- Establish, cultivate and retain strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Supervision
- Lead and supervise a team of Fleet Maintenance Technicians, and administrative staff.
- Responsible for general supervision of staff and development; this includes but is not limited to establishing staffing levels, scheduling, training, written evaluations, spot checks on quality, payroll and additional pay incentives.
- Manage conflict and crisis; proactively anticipate, manage, and constructively resolve disputes and disagreements.
- Deliver corrective action and discipline when necessary and document all performance issues.
- Work with corporate Human Resources to build and develop talent on the team, understand employees' career goals and provide coaching to employees.
- Supervise and manage performance; ensure tasks are appropriately delegated; provide coaching, training, and performance management to ensure high levels of productivity and morale within the team.
- Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations and engage HR when appropriate. Actively support all corporate policies and standard operating procedures.
What You Will Need
- High School Diploma or GED, Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast paced and high energy environment
- 7 years fleet maintenance management experience preferred, or at least 5 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics.
- Previous Experience or training as a Fleet Maintenance technician
- Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal communication skills both one-on-one and in speaking before a group.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all company divisions in a way that promotes supervisory success as well as overall company success.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all NOCO safety and maintenance policies; including but not limited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
- Commitment to integrity and ethical behavior and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Competency in the following computer programs: MS Excel, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of Trimble system or other Fleet Management system is a plus.
