Student Worker - Facilities

Effective for the 2025-2026 school year, two (2) vacancies exist for trade specific Student Workers for facilities maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical within the Administrative Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. The selected candidates will assist facilities staff with hands on trouble shooting, repairs, and/or replacement, at various campuses. The successful candidates must currently be enrolled in one of our TCHS campuses.

Qualifications:

• Current student in TCHS program through CCIU required 

• HVAC, Electrical Occupations, or Carepentry trades preferred

. Student enrolled in senior year preferred

• Clerical skills, including word processing, typing, data entry, and proofreading

• Recommendation and permission from high school guidance office

• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts in the performance of routine

• High energy and motivation level

• Comfortable delivering and receiving constructive/critical feedback

• Sharp critical thinking skills with sound judgment

• Strong organization, prioritization, time management, and follow-through

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

• Ability to meet demands from several people, and to multi-task

• Outstanding interpersonal skills

• Organizing and coordinating skills

• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide trades specific support to the lead Technician and other Facilities staff as needed

• Provide clerical support to Facilities Technician and Buildings and Grounds Supervisor as needed.

• Provide clerical support to Technician and or Buildings and Grounds Supervisor

• Provide clerical support to and back-up in the Facilities as needed.

• Other duties as assigned

 

Salary:

$14.00 per hour

Schedule:

 Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
