The duties of the position are focused on development and support of Sabre scripting (Sabre Scribe) and Sabre Red App functions.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with internal teams to plan, develop and maintain applications used by Travel Consultants to process PNRs.
Additionally, you will provide day-to-day support by answering questions and troubleshooting issues.
What You'll Do
- Create new and update existing tools (Sabre scripts and Sabre Red apps) as assigned by department management
- Convert legacy Sabre Scribe code into modern Sabre Red apps written in TypeScript, ensuring functional parity and improved performance
- Design and implement API integrations to enhance Sabre Red App functionality and streamline PNR process workflows
- Use available, pre-approved AI tools to enhance code quality, accelerate development cycles, and improve problem-solving
- Research and respond to support requests from internal customers (support tickets and change requests)
- Coordinate implementation and testing of new customers while working with applicable stakeholder teams
- Thoroughly test and document application functionality to ensure high-quality performance and maintainability
- Manage product support for cases including product breakdowns, defects, and troubleshooting
- Maintain a strong understanding of all applicable tools and Travel Consultant workflows
- Monitor and advise management of potential roadblocks and technical challenges
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in a travel agency or corporate travel management company
- 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining GDS scripts or applications: Sabre Scribe and/or Sabre Red apps (TypeScript) experience required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using GDS systems, specifically Sabre
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for modern web application development
- Extensive experience with corporate travel operational reservation workflows and procedures
- Strong prioritization, time management, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Flexibility to work at least half of a scheduled shift to coincide with US business hours (Central time zone)
Preferred additional qualifications:
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance code quality, accelerate development cycles, and improve problem-solving
- Experience converting or modernizing legacy travel systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Experience using issue-tracking tools (e.g.,Jira, FreshService, etc.)
- Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations
- Experience with other GDS platforms (TravelPort, Amadeus)
