About the Role
Kitron is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in the electronic manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and procedures to ensure that products meet internal and external customer specifications and regulatory requirements. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) efforts for non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality standards. Perform supplier audits and quality assessments as needed.
- Maintain compliance with AS9100/ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO 27001 IPC-610, and other relevant industry standards and certifications.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions, and quality KPI reports.
- Support internal audits and participate in third-party audits and regulatory inspections.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma events within the quality department.
- Create and lead AS9102 style First Article Inspection reports.
- Represent the quality department in a professional manner.
- Lead Non-conforming material (NCMR) returns and rejections to suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Certification in ASQ CQE or Lean Six Sigma is a strong advantage.
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001, IPC-610, and J-STD preferred.
- Proficient in quality tools such as FMEA, 8D/CAPA, PPAP, and statistical analysis.
- Proficient in MS Office and quality management systems (QMS).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Climate-controlled electronics manufacturing services production floor.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
