Job Description
Responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities
- Comply with all EHS, Quality, Chemical Hygiene, and Radiation Safety procedures.
- Work within a small laboratory team to safely execute chemical production processes including daily use of strong acids, bases, and radioactive materials.
- Perform all required lab safety and radiation safety protocols including radiation exposure control, decontamination, and emergency response in the lab.
- Perform chemical calculations and prepare solutions including conversion of uranium oxide per technical procedures and drawings.
- Support other manufacturing processes including heat treatment, electrical testing, and quality control testing per technical procedures and drawings.
- Work with production planner and manager to meet manufacturing priorities.
- Support failure analysis, troubleshooting, and scrap reduction through process improvement projects.
- Purchase chemicals, lab equipment, and consumables.
- Inventory control and reporting for laboratory materials.
- Proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM field from an accredited university or college required with at least 2 years of laboratory chemistry courses.
