| SUMMARY |
The Communications Lead is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Tenant Relationship and Communications program. The position requires a strategic approach and integration with the facility management, project delivery and other workstreams that are responsible for the delivery of services within the buildings. Program development requires a comprehensive understanding of commercial real estate and the role of Tenants within buildings. Operational expertise and strong communication skills are required to develop communication strategies at a National, Regional or building level. The position is responsible for supporting a multitude of programs and priorities to ensure Tenant Satisfaction. Relationship development and management is key to this position. Expertise with all different communication mechanisms within the built environment is a requirement.
| KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES |
Relationship Management
- Develops and manages the Tenant Relationship Management (TRM) Program that supports client’s initiatives.
- Interacts and integrates strategic client initiatives into the TRM Program.
- Works with workstream leads to define relationship management requirements.
- Communicates and educates internal and external concerned parties about the TRM Program.
- Develops relationships with different concerned parties to improve the occupant experience within the buildings.
Tenant Communications
- Develops strategic communications for tenants and building occupants.
- Collaborates and supports various strategic initiatives from a communications perspective.
- Implements and manages bilingual communication requirements.
- Develops & implements communication plans and schedules at a national, regional, Tenant and building level.
- Assist clients in meeting evolving communication requirements unique to their needs and portfolio.
- Implements communication plans for new assets added to the contract.
- Develops joint communication strategies, as requested.
- Implements communications and advocacy programs, to foster sustainable practices with Custodians, Tenants and Occupants.
- Develops communication handbooks, templates, notices and presentations to support communications to Tenants.
Mentorship
- Mentors communication specialists and provides direction specific to regional and workstream requirements.
- Works with communication specialists to integrate regional and workstream requirements into the development of communication strategies and plan.
Media & Public Relations
- Develops, implements and monitors media policy and public relations requirements.
- Oversees media issues and provides direction to concerned parties on media policy.
- Provides public relations support on media issues.
- Utilizes social media communication channels to support communication of key initiatives.
Technology
- Develops tools and technologies to support improved communications.
- Supports the development of SharePoint (RealConnect) and other communication and reporting vehicles.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- College Diploma/University Degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, English, Marketing or a related field.
- 10 years progressive communications experience dealing with internal corporate communications.
- Solid understanding of communications principles and best practices.
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to adapt the style, tone and complexity of writing according to target audiences and formats.
- Highly skilled in generating creative marketing communications materials using the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) with ability to follow branding and style guidelines.
- Excellent knowledge of effective communications techniques and practices.
- Highly empathetic, demonstrating leadership, maturity and professionalism on all assigned projects and tasks.
- Strong organizational, coordination and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience presenting in front of large audiences.
- Previous experience developing large, complex integrated communication strategies and plans.
- Strong computer proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience in the commercial real estate sector (facility management and project management) preferred.

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $84,493 - $105,616 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
