JOB SUMMARY
The Spot Welder is responsible for performing resistance spot welding and related fabrication processes used in the production of medical manufacturing components, assemblies, and equipment. This position ensures welded products meet company quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform resistance spot welding on metal components and assemblies according to blueprints, work instructions, and production schedules
- Operate spot welding equipment, fixtures, grinders, and other fabrication tools safely and efficiently
- Inspect welded assemblies for strength, alignment, and cosmetic quality
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications
- Maintain proper weld settings, electrode condition, and machine calibration
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately
- Work with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve welding or assembly issues
- Follow FDA, ISO, and GMP standards applicable to medical manufacturing environments
- Maintain clean and organized workstations
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and productivity
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures
- Experience with resistance welding equipment a plus
- Experience in medical device, stainless steel, sheet metal, or precision manufacturing environments preferred
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices
- Basic understanding of weld quality standards and inspection methods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of spot welding or manufacturing experience preferred

Starting Pay Rate: $20.00/hour - $23.00/hour or higher depending on experience.
