About the job
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing) Manager to lead and evolve the manufacturing systems landscape within a high‑volume, high‑throughput front‑end semiconductor wafer fabrication facility.
Reporting to the Site IT Manager, this role combines operational ownership of critical fab systems with strategic leadership across factory digitalization, automation, and smart manufacturing initiatives. You will drive improvements and innovation across MES, SPC, APC, factory automation, robotics integration, and system architecture, while ensuring operational stability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Manufacturing Systems Leadership
- Own and manage the fab CIM ecosystem, including MES transformation and factory automation systems
- Oversee equipment integration and communications across manufacturing systems
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for manufacturing systems within a high-volume wafer fab environment
- Ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance of manufacturing systems supporting 24/7 operations
- Lead system lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, and continuous improvement activities
Factory Automation & Robotics
- Drive automation initiatives across material handling and manufacturing workflows
- Lead integration of robotics technologies including AGVs, AMRs, robotic wafer handling systems, and emerging humanoid robotics
- Collaborate with equipment engineering and automation teams on SEMI-compliant tool integration
- Evaluate new smart manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 solutions
Digitalization & Smart Manufacturing
- Partner with operations, engineering, and IT teams to deploy smart factory initiatives
- Support analytics, AI/ML, predictive maintenance, and automation
- Develop long-term system architecture strategies and improve data accessibility, traceability, and reporting
Technical & Operational Support
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and develop scripts and automation tools
- Support incident resolution and root cause analysis
- Manage performance monitoring and governance
Governance, Compliance & Service Management
- Support audits and ensure compliance while applying ITIL practices
- Establish standards and documentation
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the CIM team
- Manage vendors and partners and collaborate cross-functionally
What you will need
- University degree in a technical discipline
- Min. 5 years of experience in a similar position in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Proven expertise with Manufacturing systems (MES, Opcenter Ex, SPC, APC)
- Experience with automation and robotics
- Programming skills (SQL, Python, Shell)
- Solid experience in IT governance and ITIL frameworks to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery
- Proven leadership skills and an analytical and structured way of working
- Experience in SECS/GEM, IIoT, AI/ML as well as Cloud and Data Engineering are desired
- Fluency in English and German language (spoken and written) is required
