Job Overview
The Production Supervisor (1st shift, 6:00am – 2:30pm) is within our Auto/Car Care/Prestone division and is responsible for ensuring production meets quality and efficiency standards while maintaining a safe work environment. This role is located at our Alsip, Illinois facility.
Your Role at Prestone
Overseeing the production process, drafting a production schedule and ensuring that it is adhered to.
Developing and implementing production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production objectives.
Monitoring production processes to ensure that they are operating safely and efficiently, and identifying areas for improvement.
Coordinating and assigning tasks to production staff, and ensuring that all staff members receive appropriate training to perform routine duties effectively.
Monitor production to resolve issues and ensure targets are met
Oversee training of new employees on production processes and equipment operation
Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards
Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes
Required Experience and Skills
Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to effectively motivate and guide a team
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and stay focused on task completion
Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards
Effective planning and manning skills while paying attention to detail
Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes
Compliance with customer specifications and safety procedures
Adhering to and following production schedules for efficient operations
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Associate/Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, but not required
5+ years manufacturing experience
Proven experience working in a production environment with a minimum of 3 years as a production supervisor
Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of quality control principles
Understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work independently and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Experience with integrated/computerized manufacturing systems. JDE SAP experience is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications with a strong understanding of Excel.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
The production facility is within an indoor/outdoor, industrial environment and is not climate controlled. Must be able to perform some physical exertion as necessary. Standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy items, and performing other physical tasks.
