Job Description
Touchmark in the West Hills is Portland’s leading full-service retirement community, enriching the lives of residents and their families through five-star hospitality, services and amenities. We are currently seeking a compassionate person to join our talented team as a Janitorial Technician.
This is a full-time position.
Wage is $20.29 to $21.23 per hour DOE
As a Janitorial Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all interior and exterior areas of our beautiful campus are attractive, clean, and well-maintained.
Exterior of the building you will walk outside every day to make sure:
Sidewalks, landscaping, entryways and parking lots are free of debris, litter and dog waste
Monitoring the garbage and recycling areas on campus
Cleaning windows, removing cobwebs, and removing snow and/or ice
Inside the buildings, you will ensure a “white glove” standard of presentation in all of the office and common areas (if you ran your hand over the shelf with a white glove, would it come away clean?). You will also perform a variety of custodial duties, such as
Stripping, waxing and buffing floors
Cleaning carpets
Sanitizing kitchen and lavatory facilities
Maintaining the swimming pool (chemicals, temperature, and cleanliness)
Emptying garbage receptacles.
Assisting with housekeeping duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will:

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Have experience maintaining and cleaning swimming pools
Have a “can do” attitude towards their work and be passionate about maintaining a five-star site appearance
Be willing to work outside in all weather conditions
Be able to read, write, and speak English in order to effectively communicate with residents and team members, and have the physical ability to perform tasks that require continuous walking, standing, bending, and lifting
Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
Ability to lift and work with up to 50 pounds throughout a shift using proper lifting techniques.
