Job Description

Title: Assistant Director of Security and Emergency Management
Unaffiliated Level 6
Location: District Service Center
Salary Range: $121,850 - $148,606

Position Description:
The Assistant Director of Security and Emergency Management will provide operational strategy and command, serving as the bridge between district vision and daily operations. The Assistant Director will execute the District Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), run table-top exercises, and serve as the on-the-ground Incident Commander during critical events. This role advises the Superintendent and district leadership on strategic preparedness while directing emergency response and recovery efforts to ensure the safety and security of the school district. 

The Assistant Director of Security and Emergency Management reports to the Executive Director of Finance & Operations or Assistant Superintendent.
 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in law enforcement, public safety, emergency management, public or business administration, or other related areas is required.
  • Five years of experience in public safety, emergency management, or school safety is required.
  • Experience utilizing the Incident Command System (ICS) protocol for organizational preparedness and operations is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership at a law enforcement and/or emergency management agency is highly preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license where travel among the district buildings occurs on a regular, ongoing basis.
  • A Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certificate is required within one year of employment
