THE POSITION

Reporting organisationally to the Head of Marketing, Brand and Promotion (FIFA27, Rio de Janeiro) and the Senior Social Media Manager (FIFA HQ, Zurich), the Social Media Manager will be a key member of the FIFA27 Marketing, Brand and Promotion team, and will work in close collaboration with the Digital Marketing team in Zurich and other key individuals responsible for managing, planning and delivering social media campaigns for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027™.

The main responsibilities and oversights of the Social Media Manager for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027™ include:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with tournament goals and target audiences based on country and consumer audience. 
• Set specific objectives for social media campaigns, such as increasing brand awareness, driving traffic, and boosting engagement through a fan-first approach. 
• Ensure all social media content aligns with the brand's voice, tone, and messaging guidelines. 
• Create, curate, and publish engaging and relevant content across social platforms, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia. 
• Develop content calendars and schedule posts across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and more. 
• Monitor social media platforms for trends, mentions, and relevant conversations. 
• Use social listening tools to gather insights and trends for stakeholders across marketing, creative, and digital content teams. 
• Track and analyse social media performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Sprinklr, native platform analytics, and third-party tools. 
• Prepare and present reports on engagement, reach, follower growth, and ROI, using insights to optimise strategies. 
• Plan, create, and manage paid social media campaigns to achieve marketing objectives such as lead generation or sales. 
• Monitor and optimise advertising performance, adjusting targeting, creative, and budgets based on analytics. 
• Identify, manage, and collaborate with influencers, brand ambassadors, broadcasters, and partners to amplify reach and engagement. 
• Stay up to date on social media trends, tools, and best practices. 
• Execute social campaigns including contests, giveaways, and product launches. 
• Coordinate cross-platform campaigns to ensure consistent messaging and maximum impact. 
• Work closely with marketing, PR, creative services, and other departments to support overall business goals. 
• Collaborate with content creators, designers, and copywriters to produce high-quality content. 
• Act as the primary social media liaison between the Zurich-based global team and the US-based event teams. 
• Adjust strategies based on data to improve reach, engagement, and conversion rates. 
• Ensure collaboration and content optimisation with other stakeholders in the Digital Marketing group, including colleagues working on owned-and-operated platforms



YOUR PROFILE

  • Education & Qualifications

    • Related bachelor’s degree or a similar level of higher education.


  • Work Experience

    • Minimum 5 years' experience developing social media campaigns for sports teams, paid social campaigns, creating social content, and leadership responsibilities (preferably in the South American market). 
    • Ability to understand and execute brand guidelines. 
    • Proficiency across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. 
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Fluent in English and Portuguese 

  • Technology

    • Experience/Proficiency with; Google Analytics, Keyhole, Canva, PowerPoint, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Adobe Creative Cloud.
