Job Summary:
Super Micro Computer, Inc. is seeking a Export Control Specialist based in Taiwan to support the company’s global export and customs compliance operations. This role will assist with export classifications, customer due diligence, trade compliance reviews, and operational compliance activities related to Supermicro’s AI, server, semiconductor, and advanced computing products.
The Specialist will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, legal, and operations teams across Asia and global locations to support compliance with U.S. export regulations and global trade requirements while enabling efficient business operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Export Classification & Compliance Support
• Assist with ECCN or equivalent classifications for hardware, software, and technology under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• Review technical specifications and product information to support export classifications and compliance determinations.
• Maintain export classification records and related compliance documentation within internal systems.
• Support export screening and trade compliance reviews for customers, transactions, and shipments.
Due Diligence & Trade Compliance Operations
• Support customer due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews by collecting, reviewing, and maintaining required compliance documentation.
• Assist with restricted party screening, end-use/end-user reviews, and transaction risk assessments.
• Help maintain compliance records, reports, dashboards, and audit documentation.
• Support export license reviews and documentation gathering activities.
Customs & Operational Compliance
• Support customs compliance activities, including tariff classifications, country of origin reviews, and trade documentation accuracy.
• Partner with logistics, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain teams to support compliant global shipments and trade operations.
• Assist with broker communications, shipment escalations, and customs-related data reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work with engineering, manufacturing, logistics, sales, and operations teams to collect required compliance information.
• Provide day-to-day trade compliance support and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Support compliance activities related to global customer transactions and product movements.
Process Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve compliance workflows, documentation processes, and data accuracy.
• Support updates to trade compliance procedures, internal controls, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in international trade, supply chain, business, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience
• 2–5 years of experience in export compliance, customs, logistics, or global trade operations.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, technology, electronics, semiconductor, or supply chain operations preferred.
Skills
• Basic understanding of U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and trade compliance concepts.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and business applications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced global environment.
• English communication skills required; Mandarin preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with SAP, SAP GTS, or trade compliance software.
• Familiarity with export classifications, restricted party screening, or customs processes.
• Experience supporting Taiwan-based manufacturing or supply chain operations.
• Interest in AI infrastructure, servers, semiconductors, or advanced computing technologies.
