Job Description
Key Accountabilities
- Develop & execute a comprehensive sales plan for the assigned territory, product line, business division, and market segment.
- Optimize customer base regarding portfolio sales & value proposition and long-term success.
- Act in focus and manage time effectively based on priorities.
- Manage customer accounts, product sales volumes, pricing, call allocation, account potential analysis, and sales budgeting.
- Drive the commercial development pipeline to create new applications with customers.
- Support, implement the OPP marketing strategy and promote our portfolio & capabilities of the OPP global business divisions: High-Performance Polymers, Engineering Polymers, Standard Polymers.
- Representing OPP at events and fairs; developing leads and capturing opportunities.
- Actively use the OPP customer relationship management tool to share development opportunities, interactions and sales projects on each responsible account for the sales territory.
- Conduct and coordinate suitable market analysis to support the objectives of the company and principals in line with Divisional strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and cross fertilization and prepare reports on new business projects / opportunities among sales team members and OPP management.
- Identify and develop new market segments and innovations through new applications.
- Manage all aspects of customer interface within responsibilities.
- Provide market information and trends to the management teams.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, with frequent face-to-face visits to foster strong relationships.
- Conduct and conclude commercial negotiations (price, payment terms, etc.) with customers.
- Provide technical customer assistance when possible and together with principals as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Polymer Science or related areas.
- Additional education is advantageous.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a B2B environment.
- Experience in the Polymer industry is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a matrix organization is a plus.
Knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of the customer base for polypropylene and polyethylene in the designated sales territory.
- Demonstrable sales history of at least 10.000 tons/year of PP/PE in the sales territory with in depth knowledge of injection molding, film and blow molding applications.
- Clear track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Team-result driven.
- Self-starter who can create and execute own direct sales engagements.
- Must be adept at negotiation and customer service.
- Creative and critical thinking skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, with excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do mentality, combined with an autonomous, creative and self-motivated mindset
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to work in a matrix organization.
- A thorough understanding of the polymer industry / products
- Good project management structure.
- A pragmatic, solution-oriented, and hands-on mindset with a drive to deliver success while meeting timelines without compromising on quality
Other requirements
- Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English is required.
- Additional languages will be beneficial.
- Ability & willingness to travel extensively within the assign territory (60% +)
