Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
1. Trucker Sign-In & Dock Assignment
- Sign in inbound/outbound truck drivers.
- Verify appointment times, carrier information, load numbers, and documentation.
- Assign docks, staging lanes, or yard queue locations.
- Record arrival times, load progress, and completion times.
- Track live loads and deescalate detention risks.
- Maintain accurate, legible daily truck documentation logs.
2. Micro-Inventory of Packaged Goods & Consumables
- Count staged finished goods, rail/SLO staging, supersacks/bulk bags, paper bags.
- Count consumables: bags, stretch wrap film, labels, pallets, slip sheets, seals etc.
- Conduct counts at shift start, mid-shift, and end-of-shift.
- Identify shortages, damaged goods, incorrect staging, or labeling errors.
- Communicate findings immediately to Lead Hand and Foreman.
- Maintain clean, accurate count sheets that support shipping accuracy.
3. Documentation of Product Samples & Lot Traceability
- Ensure samples from packaging equipment (roto packers, bulk/supersacks) are correctly pulled and labeled.
- Verify sample labels match pallet labels, lot numbers, and packaging logs.
- Confirm bulk-load samples are taken and documented.
- Identify missing, incorrect, or incomplete sample documentation.
- Escalate issues immediately through the proper chain of command.
4. Pre-Shipment Documentation Management
- Prepare and verify outbound shipment documents: BOLs, pick sheets, lot logs, packaging reports, sample logs.
- Confirm product type, pallet count, and lot sequence match documentation.
- Assemble driver packets in an organized, 6S-compliant manner.
- Ensure no load begins until documentation discrepancies are resolved.
- Communicate issues to the Foreman and Warehouse Specialist immediately.
5. Post-Shipment Documentation Management
- Confirm final pallet/lots match pre-shipment documents.
- Obtain driver signatures on BOL and completion documents.
- Attach sampling logs, packaging reports, and QA documentation.
- Assemble final shipment packet.
- Deliver completed packets to the Shipping Department Retention Area for Shipping Coordinator pick-up.
- File packets accurately and maintain documentation integrity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Escalation Path
For documentation issues, labeling errors, loading discrepancies, or sample traceability concerns, the Coordinator follows this communication path:
1. Foreman/Lead Operator
2. Shipping Coordinator
3. Shipping Supervisor
4. Warehouse Supervisor – Informational
5. Warehouse Specialist(s) – Informational
This ensures compliance, One Voice communication, and operational control.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience
• 1–3 years of warehouse, logistics, shipping, or packaging experience preferred.
Computer & System Skills
• High comfort with computer-based systems including:
– VAS software
– E2open scheduling software
– Microsoft Excel
– Microsoft Word
• Strong email and electronic communication capability.
• Basic data entry and documentation management.
Additional Required Skills
• Easily readable handwriting for logs, sampling sheets, and documentation packets.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Clear, professional verbal communication.
• Ability to multitask in high-volume operational periods.
• Strong organization and follow-through.
• Bi-Lingual preferred.
Team-Based 6S Culture Requirements
• Maintain clean, organized, labeled workstations.
• Support standardized work and visual controls.
• Participate in 6S checks and daily housekeeping.
• Minimize waste by identifying discrepancies early.
• Reinforce chain-of-command communication and One Voice Leadership.
Physical Requirements
• Standing/walking for extended periods.
• Lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Working around and operating forklifts.
• Navigating active warehouse environments safely.
• Ability to read lot codes, labels, paperwork, and digital screens clearly.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required by production schedules.
- 2nd Shift schedule, Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11:30pm
- Shift differential: +$1 per hour
- Pay Range: $30.71 - $34.81 per hour
