We are looking for an experienced Technical Authority – Naval Architecture to provide technical leadership, governance, and assurance across our FPSO and offshore portfolio. In this role, you will be the custodian of naval architecture standards, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient design and operation throughout the asset lifecycle — while influencing how the discipline continues to evolve. This is a senior expert role for someone who enjoys combining deep technical mastery with strategic influence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Own and continuously develop the company’s Naval Architecture technical standards, defining minimum requirements for projects and operations. Provide expert technical guidance to projects, asset operations, and the wider technical organisation. Lead and support verification and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and class rules. Review and approve technical deviations, engineering methods, tools, and key discipline deliverables. Act as the main technical interface with classification societies, regulators, and industry bodies. Capture and implement lessons learned from projects and operations to drive continuous improvement. Mentor and support the professional development of Naval Architects across the organisation. Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated, optimised solutions. Qualifications: A minimum of 15 years’ experience in offshore Oil Gas or a closely related industry working with floating production facilities. Strong experience across both project and operational phases of offshore facilities, preferably FPSOs. Previous experience as a Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Technical Authority / Subject Matter Expert. Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multinational environments. Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering. A Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience may also be considered. Skills: Deep expertise in naval architecture, including hull design, stability, hydrodynamics, global strength, fatigue, and general arrangement. Strong understanding of classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements. Solid grasp of the technical, contractual, and commercial aspects of FPSO design, construction, and operation.
