Role Summary
We are seeking a Purchaser to join our team in Calgary, AB. This position reports to the Procurement Manager. Working with our Procurement Team, the Purchaser will procure materials for PTW's various Electric & Controls divisional branches located across Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and procure electrical materials, equipment, and related services
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations based on cost, quality, and lead time
• Issue, manage, and track purchase orders and deliveries
• Coordinate with project teams to support material requirements and project schedules
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Expedite orders and resolve delivery, pricing, or invoice discrepancies
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company standards and procedures
• Complete material requisitions, PO closeouts, and material returns as required
• Negotiate pricing for medium to large construction projects
• Provide purchasing KPIs and reports as required
• Stay current on product availability and supply chain options
• Identify and escalate ongoing vendor or supply issues to management
Qualifications / Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' experience in wholesale or industrial purchasing/procurement
• Strong industrial background with demonstrated purchasing/procurement experience considered an asset
• SCMP designation, college diploma, or equivalent certification in Purchasing/Procurement considered an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid understanding of procurement processes
• Previous ERP system experience considered an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and accountability
• Commitment to working safely and following all site safety requirements
• Must have own transportation (location not accessible by public transit)
