This role plays a pivotal role within SDSE logistics team. Key responsibilities include tracking invoices, collaborating with departments on cost allocation (correct NERP LCC), identifying cost-saving opportunities, and assisting with forecasting. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, often involving the use of Micro Excel formulaKey Responsibilities
Cost tracking and reporting: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly costs to ensure accuracy and compliance with audits
Cost analysis and control: Analyse financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency measures.
Collaboration: Work with different departments (e.g., operations, procurement, finance) to ensure proper cost allocation and management.
LSP and invoice management: Ensure suppliers are set up correctly, approve invoices, and manage any related queries.
Project costing: Track, report, and manage costs for projects, including handling variation orders and updating system accordingly.
Requirements
- Pivot tables, Xlookup, Power Query
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Building cost models and dashboards.
- Attention to detail to spot minute financial discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with financial software and tools, especially Microsoft Excel
- The ability to multitask and have high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, and financial systems
- 3+ years’ experience of reviewing supplier invoices and contracts.
- Strong teamwork and ability to collaborate across multiple functions and organizational areas.
- Attention to detail with a pragmatic, enthusiastic attitude to work and tenacity to achieve a positive result.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
