What you’ll be DOING Present AXA XL’s brand in the market, contribute to developing the Company in Hong Kong and preserve AXA XL’s excellent reputation as a business partner and employer
Responsible for underwriting and producing business for Financial Lines business in line with AXA XL and AXA Group strategy and standards
As the Financial Lines Underwriter, you will be responsible for working within authority limits on assignments reflecting the expert degree of technical complexity and coordination under management direction
Key responsibilities will involve underwriting business in line with the business plan; assisting the planning and forecasting process; monitoring aggregate exposure within agreed limits; monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within agreed limits; maintaining awareness of all claims advised; supporting and providing input on settlement of claims advised; building and maintaining relationships with brokers and clients; supporting the design and structure of risks as well as identifying and driving new product development opportunities
What will your essential responsibilities include
Market and promote AXA XL’s products with primary responsibility for Financial Lines products, to insurers and brokers with primary responsibility for securing business in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan insurance market Analyze account submissions and review underlying terms and conditions and to ascertain and quantify exposures with respect to AXA XL’s Underwriting Guidelines Conduct underwriting meetings with brokers and prospective insurers in order to quantify the inherent risks and exposures on large and complex multi-national accounts and corporations Determine premium rates for individual accounts within authority levels Identify new business and market opportunities, implement leading edge products and solutions Provide direction to underwriting support services in conjunction with policy issuance and endorsement wording preparation Able to manage internal insurance related systems and ensure the integrity of information on the relevant underwriting systems is in accordance to underwriting guidelines, limits and pricing/rating procedures Client management including day to day multinational program management, consultative service and relationship building You will report to the Underwriting Manager, Financial Lines
What you will BRING We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance and related discipline Financial Lines technical underwriting background with good understanding of Financial Lines insurance market Experience in handling Global Program is added advantage Good analytical, negotiation, sales and marketing skills Good team player and provides good solutions & ideas Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain insured and broker contacts Good presentation and communication skills in both spoken and written English, Mandarin and Chinese Self-motivated with ability to working independently, efficiently and under pressure Who WE are AXA XL, the P&C and specialty risk division of AXA, is known for solving complex risks
