Job Description
Role Summary Import/Export Clerk plays a key part in ensuring the accurate processing of import and export documentation, smooth cargo flow, and excellent customer service in line with company policies and international shipping standards. The Import/Export Clerk is responsible for supporting end‑to‑end import and export operations by managing documentation, coordinating shipments, updating operational systems, and liaising with customers, terminals, and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance with procedures, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast‑paced shipping and logistics environment. Key Responsibilities - Handle import and/or export documentation in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements - Coordinate bookings, cargo movements, and customer requests - Capture, verify, and update shipment data in operational systems accurately and on time - Liaise with customers, terminals, authorities, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations - Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper filing of all physical and electronic documents - Support periodic reporting and operational follow‑ups as required Skills Competencies - Good command of English and Portuguese (spoken and written) - Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy - Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work proactively - Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel and other computer tools Qualifications Experience - High School Diploma (Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Shipping, or related field is an advantage) - 2 to 3 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, port, terminal, or customer service operations - Previous exposure to import/export documentation and operational processes - Experience with operational systems and reporting tools is an advantage
