Responsibilities
Global Procurement Leadership
- Lead global category strategies for direct raw materials and third-party manufacturing, aligned with business, product, and regional requirements.
- Act as a strategic business partner to Operations, Global Supply Chain Planning, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Represent Global Procurement in cross-functional forums, including S&OP, supply risk reviews, and major program governance.
Direct Raw Material Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Own supplier strategy, sourcing decisions, and commercial frameworks for assigned direct material categories.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and ongoing performance management (cost, service, quality, innovation).
- Drive dual-sourcing, localization, and risk-mitigation strategies for critical raw materials.
- Partner with Supplier Quality and Operations to resolve quality, capacity, and performance issues.
Third-Party / Contract Manufacturing Management
- Own commercial and strategic relationships with third-party manufacturing partners.
- Lead RFx processes, capacity reservations, cost models, and contract negotiations for external manufacturing.
- Collaborate with Planning and Manufacturing to align internal and external capacity strategies.
- Support new product introductions (NPI/NPC) and technology transfers into external manufacturing sites.
Cost & Value Management
- Deliver year-over-year cost productivity through negotiations, should-cost analysis, specification optimization, and demand aggregation.
- Lead price increase evaluations, cost transparency discussions, and recovery strategies.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasts, and cost-impact analysis.
Supply Continuity & Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supply risks across raw materials and third-party manufacturing.
- Lead supplier business continuity planning and escalation management.
- Support response planning for geopolitical, capacity, or material disruptions.
Governance, Processes & Master Data
- Ensure strong governance for supplier selection, contracting, and performance management.
- Own procurement-related master data governance for assigned categories (e.g., Vendor Masters, Purchasing Info Records, contracts, pricing).
- Drive standardization of procurement processes, tools, and documentation across regions.
Reporting & Analytics
- Monitor and report on supplier performance, cost savings, supply risks, and contract compliance.
- Use data and analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and corrective actions.
People Leadership & Development
- Hire, coach, and develop procurement professionals for high performance.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and succession plans within the team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and ethical sourcing.
General
- Support ESG, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to sourcing and supplier management.
- Champion change management associated with sourcing transformations and major initiatives.
