Job Description
- Repairs and maintains equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance or restoration procedures
- Interface with machine shop for repairs as necessary
- Diagnose machine problems independently and in teams by utilizing advanced troubleshooting skills and escalates to appropriate resources to resolve issues
- Works to support equipment improvement projects
- Must hand off issues to oncoming shifts and receive hand-offs from off going shifts
- Reduces equipment downtime thru data analysis, optimizing preventive maintenance procedures, eliminating recurring issues and identifying training opportunities
- Reduces Cost thru data analysis, identifying frequent failure parts or Failures of processes and interfaces with engineering or the appropriate resource to resolve issues.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical and pneumatic drawings for repair needs or to construct new equipment
- Keep current with lower-level skills and works towards completion of all 4M requirements
- Participates in team functions such as engagement roles, continuous improvement, communication, and trains others
- Accomplish any tasks assigned by management.
Essential Functions of the Role**:
- Ability to frequently stand, walk sit
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds could be more?
- Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds with a hand truck
- Ability to occasionally climb, use balance, stoop, and crouch and frequently twist
- Ability to constantly reach while standing and sitting
- Must have Fine motor skills of the hands, wrists, and fingers to accomplish intricate mechanical assembly
- Must communicate clearly and effectively with team members, operators and management and document work accurately and comprehensively
- Must troubleshoot process and equipment failures independently
- Ability to visually inspect and feel product for small defects
- Safely utilizes shop tools such as drill press, band saw, arbor press, hydraulic press, table saw, bench grinder, sander, as well as basic hand tools to complete tasks as assigned.
- Must be able to measure tooling and product to specification using rulers, calipers, micrometers, snap gages, and general measurement tools
- Accomplish tasks as assigned such as assembly, disassembly, cleaning, refurbishment, organizing, modification of equipment
- Must use the computerized maintenance management system for work direction, logging of work, managing parts acquisition, and documentation of machine and work information
- Must use the PC for email communication and training
- Must analyze maintenance data to identify cost and downtime improvement opportunities
- Must be engaged with the Hollister HPS system
Work Experience Requirements:
- Number of Overall Years Necessary: 4+ preferred
- Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Education Requirements
One of the following:
- Associate degree in electronics or industrial maintenance
- Journeyman level apprenticeship in a related field
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
Any of the following skills are beneficial and are desired
- Welding
- Machining
- Advanced troubleshooting training
- Guarding fabrication
