 What You Will Do:

  • Own and support daily heat treat operations, ensuring processes run consistently and meet material specifications
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize heat treat cycles (hardening, tempering, annealing) to improve quality and efficiency
  • Lead pyrometry activities in compliance with internal standards
  • Maintain furnace performance through equipment tuning, troubleshooting, and preventive calibration practices
  • Ensure full compliance with NADCAP and internal quality standards; support audits and corrective actions
  • Manage and improve documentation, traceability, and process records for heat treat operations
  • Drive digitization of heat treat data and workflows using systems like Solumina and SAP platforms
  • Partner with quality and operations teams to investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Provide technical guidance on material behavior and heat treat outcomes to cross-functional teams
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase repeatability, reduce variation, and enhance overall throughput

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of materials science/metallurgy experience
  • Working knowledge of pyrometry and heat treat process controls (e.g., AMS 2750 standards)
  • Familiarity with quality systems in regulated environments (NADCAP experience preferred)

Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year

 

Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site, first shift position located in Windsor Locks, CT.

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working first shift hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
  • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, 5% of travel is required.
