Internal Audit Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute risk-based audits with primary focus on Finance, including financial reporting, revenue assurance, treasury, accounting operations, reconciliations, payments, and regulatory reporting. 

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices across finance and business operations. 

• Conduct audits of digital and emerging business initiatives, assessing operational, technology, regulatory, and financial risks. 

• Review AML/CFT, KYC, and financial crime controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. 

• Perform data analytics, transaction testing, and thematic reviews to identify control weaknesses, financial irregularities, compliance gaps, and emerging risks. 

• Prepare clear and actionable audit reports, communicate findings to management, and track remediation of agreed action plans. 

• Support the development of the annual audit plan, risk assessments, special reviews, and advisory engagements across finance, digital business, and compliance domains. 

• Partner with key stakeholders to provide independent assurance and insight on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and new business ventures.

   

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related discipline.

Job Experience Required

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Internal Audit, Finance Audit, AML/CFT Audit, Financial Crime Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Banking, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), Payment Service Providers (PSP), FinTech, or other regulated financial institutions.

Required Capabilities

• Good understanding of finance processes, financial controls, accounting, reporting, reconciliations, revenue assurance, and regulatory requirements. 

• Experience in finance, compliance, or AML audits within Banking, MFS, PSP, FinTech, or other regulated financial institutions. 

• Basic understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, and financial crime risks and controls. 

• Strong analytical, data analysis, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.

• CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, CIA, CISA, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred; AML/CFT-related certifications (e.g., CAMS) or CFE will be an added advantage.
