Job Description
As a Clinical Medical Assistant, youโll support nursing staff and providers in delivering patient care within a secure correctional healthcare environment. Your role will help keep operations running smoothly while ensuring patients receive professional and compassionate care.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with intake screenings and patient assessments
- Obtaining vital signs and medical histories
- Preparing patients for examinations and treatments
- Supporting medication pass and treatment procedures
- Maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Scheduling and coordinating healthcare services
- Assisting with inventory and medical supplies
- Responding professionally in urgent situations alongside the medical team
This role offers a unique blend of clinical experience, patient interaction, and teamwork in a setting where no two shifts feel exactly alike.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment
- Prior correctional, urgent care, family practice, or emergency medicine experience is a plus, but not required
