Summer Office Assistant - Environmental Health & Safety (Work-Study Required)

Assist the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department with the campus life safety inspections (fire extinguishers, AED units, eyewash stations, etc.) and some office functions (making documents/trainings, filing, running errands, etc.). Primary Job Functions: - Weekly eyewash inspections (~5%) - Monthly fire extinguisher inspections (~60%) - Monthly AED inspections (~15%) - Office Assistant (~20%) Science majors preferred (not required), as this position involves some work within research and teaching laboratories. This position requires good communication skills (not afraid to talk to/interact with individuals across campus), organization of files/documents, use of Word/Excel/Power Point, reliable/punctual, good handwriting, and outgoing. Physical demands include a lot of walking to complete the safety inspections. You will get your steps and get to know the buildings better. EHS prefers to have chunks of work time for each shift (two hours or more). Office hours are 7:00am – 3:00pm.
