Job Summary:
Reporting to the SVP Strategy and Business Development, the person in this role directs the planning, execution, and performance monitoring of business development and program management initiatives in support of the financial, operational, and corporate objectives of University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and its Member Organizations. This role will primarily be aligned with work in the UMMS Community Division with periodic support of enterprise wide special projects. Will work closely with select Member Organization leaders and team members as well as strategy, marketing, finance, and external affairs colleagues from across UMMS.
Work Environment & Travel Expectations:
- Works across Member Organization campuses, UMMS corporate offices, ambulatory care sites, and partnership settings, with frequent onsite presence at assigned affiliated campuses within Maryland.
- Weekly travel to Member Organization locations is expected, along with flexibility to support evolving market and strategic objectives. Occasional out-of-town travel to conferences, vendors, and partners may be required.
Primary Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with senior leaders to advance strategic and clinical initiatives aligned with approved system and Member Organization priorities.
· Supports the development, execution support, and ongoing management of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), coordinating across clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders. Contributes to the development of monthly performance metrics, dashboards, and outcome reporting, and assists in identifying performance risks, improvement opportunities, and corrective actions. Supports preparation of AOP and strategy performance updates for senior leadership and Board-level review, as directed.
· Conducts detailed financial, market, and program analyses to support strategic initiatives, business development efforts, and value-based opportunities. Responsibilities include analytics, financial and valuation modeling, program assessment, and performance tracking to inform decision-making related to strategic initiatives, program implementation, partnership opportunities, and AOP outcomes.
· Collaborates with executive leadership, service line leaders, and external partners to deliver market research, competitive intelligence, and business insights, while supporting relationship management and coordination activities. Contributes to the development of business plans, joint ventures, and corporate collaboration initiatives, and supports execution planning across clinical and operational stakeholders.
· Participates in activities of the UMMS Strategy Council, supporting workgroups related to analytics, reporting, and performance management. Assists with aligning and coordinating data and reporting needed to support planning, business development, and system-level strategic initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usefulness for decision-making.
· Partners with Member Organization leadership to support strategy execution, operational alignment, and performance management across assigned initiatives and service areas. Serves as a trusted contributor and project leader, facilitating coordination across functions and escalating issues as appropriate to ensure alignment with system priorities.
· Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight for senior associates, associates, and analysts supporting assigned initiatives, ensuring high-quality analytic outputs, effective project execution, and adherence to timelines and deliverables.

Work Experience
Education & Experience - Required
· Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or related field
· Minimum of seven (7) years of previous experience in strategy, planning, finance, business development or operations in a healthcare environment
· Minimum five (3) years of previous supervisory or leadership experience
