SALARY: Per Ohio County Schools Salary Schedule Based Upon Degree and Years of Experience

TITLE: Art Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To teach students so that they learn subject matter and skills that
will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate, Art K-12.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods for middle school and elementary art.
• Wiling to participate in activities identified by the school system that enhance the Art Program, (Example: Art Shows & Student Contests).
• Willing to prepare and present In-Service sessions to school personnel as needed.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Any combination of training and experience which would lead to successful employment as an Art Teacher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
• Implements his/her program of study.
• Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning.
• Utilizes instructional management systems which increase student learning and maximizes time on task.
• Monitors student progress toward learning outcomes.
• Maintains and upgrades professional skills.
• Maintains professional work habits.
• Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships.
• Performs other duties assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendents or Superintendent.
