Manager, Service Provider Management Governance

In this role you will provide group-wide leadership to optimise operational resilience through the group-wide management and governance of service providers across IAG. 

 

 

This is a permanent full time opportunity based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Meanjin (Brisbane) or Naarm (Melbourne).

  

 

What You'll Do 

 

 

  • Provide thought leadership, advice and support to senior management, 1st and 2nd Line teams to optimise operational resilience and ensure the effective management of Material Service Providers (under APRA Prudential Standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management)
  • Develop and maintain the methodology for Material Service Providers (MSP), in alignment with related frameworks for Procurement and Business Continuity
  • Develop, maintain and govern the MSP Register, including identifying new MSPs and preparing APRA notifications
  • Develop a coordinated and integrated approach with Procurement and relevant Divisional teams for the governance of MSPs
  • Develop and present a Group view of Third part risks, identifying, and making recommendations on areas where the state of control remediation activity requires further uplift or escalation across the Group
  • Uplift design of controls as required to support compliance with the MSP elements of APRA Prudential Standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management, and in alignment with IAG’s risk appetite
  • Lead the group-wide oversight and assurance activities over Service Provider Management.
  • Develop a coordinated and integrated approach with Procurement and relevant Divisional teams for the governance of MSPs
  • Support the Operational Resilience Committee including drafting of papers for the Committee
  • Provide insightful reporting to Board, Executive and senior management governance committees in relation to MSPs, their performance and assurance activities.
  • Manage compliance with the relevant MSP elements of APRA Prudential Standard CPS 230 Operational Risk Management
  • Lead a team of highly skilled risk professionals to continuously enhance the proactive management of MSPs by the business, and promoting a sound risk culture
  • Develop networks across IAG and industry and collaborate effectively across the 3 Lines of Accountability
  • Partner with Industry peers / representing IAG at external forums to help drive better practices and to identify and advise on horizon risks which may adversely impact IAG strategy execution
  • Ongoing uplift of MSP capability through training and awareness, including development, design, and delivery of training content

 

 

What You'll Bring 

 

 

  • Minimum of 10+ years Financial services experience in risk management and/or assurance at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of Third Party Risk/Service Provider Management within complex environments in a senior role in either first or second line.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Third Party Risk/Service Provider Management software platforms.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to effectively engage and influence across all levels of management.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure,
  • Demonstrated ability to actively keep abreast of changes in external environments and translate into internal environment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across whole of function and broader group to reach a common approach
  • Undergraduate/Postgraduate degrees or other qualifications required to perform the role at a fully competent level
  • Relevant Financial Services experience
  • Broad range of knowledge and relationships across the financial services industry, both on a local and global level to remain aware of current and emerging trends
  • Excellent workshop facilitation skills
  • Project Management leadership including developing and implementing a project
