What Your Day and Week Could Look Like

As the District Sales Manager (DSM) for Quebec, you will build and manage relationships with a portfolio of dealership partners across these key markets. You will represent both prime and non-prime automotive lending programs, ensuring dealerships are supported, educated, and engaged to drive successful partnerships that result in healthy application and funded volume.

This role blends dealership relationship management, sales enablement, and performance analytics. You’ll use tools such as Salesforce CRM, Power BI, Databricks, and Excel to monitor performance trends, develop insights, and inform business discussions. You’ll also conduct dealership education sessions, participate in local automotive industry events, and strengthen Cancaps visibility within the Quebec market.

 

What You’ll Do

Dealer Relationship & Territory Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of dealership partners primarily the Montreal areas.
  • Conduct regular dealership visits to support training, partnership development, and performance optimization within the specified region.
  • Educate dealership teams (F&I, sales managers, GSMs/GMs) on CanCap programs, deal structure strategies, and submission best practices.
  • Represent CanCap at industry events, dealer group meetings, and association conferences to increase visibility and partnership strength across QC.

 

  • Application & Funding Growth (Prime & Non-Prime)
  • Support dealers in submitting high-quality applications to achieve strong approval and funding performance.
  • Monitor program mix, approval trends, and opportunity gaps to guide dealer-level performance plans.
  • Partner closely with Credit and Funding teams to resolve deal issues and ensure a smooth experience for dealers

 

Performance Reporting, CRM & Insights

  • Use Salesforce CRM to manage dealer accounts, track visits, log engagement, and maintain clean, up to date and descriptive records.
  • Generate and review CRM reports to assess pipeline activity, follow-up completion, and dealer engagement trends.
  • Review dealer performance dashboards in Power BI to identify key drivers, opportunities, and risks.
  • Utilize Databricks for data retrieval and performance analysis (basic familiarity required).
  • Use Excel (pivot tables, formulas, comparative analysis) to support monthly reviews and District Performance Reporting.
  • Present findings and actionable insights in a clear, structured format for internal and external business reviews.

 

Dealer Education & Field Enablement

  • Deliver dealer education sessions, both one-on-one and group-based, to enhance understanding of Cancaps credit programs and operational processes.
  • Coach dealerships on best practices for structuring deals, optimizing submissions, and improving approval ratios.
  • Gather and relay market and competitive intelligence to Sales Leadership to inform program strategy.
  • AML and Fraud prevention education and presentation sessions for all accounts.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Credit, Operations, Risk, and Product teams to align dealer experience and program execution.
  • Serve as a field voice to help shape internal initiatives and improvement throughout the organization.

 

Continuous Engagement & Professionalism

  • Maintain a disciplined approach to District Performance planning and follow-up.
  • Act as a trusted, knowledgeable advisor and brand ambassador for CanCap across specified regions in QC.

 

What You’ll Bring 

Experience

  • 3+ years in automotive finance, dealership business development, F&I support, or field sales.
  • Experience working directly with F&I managers, GSMs, and or Dealer Principals in the BC region.
  • Solution seeking and customer service focused mindset.

 

Technical Skills

  • Salesforce CRM (account tracking, reporting, pipeline visibility)
  • Power BI (interpreting dealer and regional performance dashboards)

 

  • Databricks (basic data extraction and analysis)
  • Excel (pivot tables, lookups, performance summaries)
  • Dealertrack, RouteOne and Credit app familiarity.

Reporting Relationship

This role reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager for Western Canada, and collaborates closely with the VP of Sales, Credit, and Operations to ensure alignment on performance targets and dealer engagement strategies.
