Field Services Technician - Planned Maintenance
Job Description
A people-first role with a clear path to grow — bring your mechanical or electrical aptitude and your keen desire to learn.
At Accessable, our mission is simple: better living for all New Zealanders. Every day our team visits clients in their homes and workplaces, providing the disability and rehabilitation equipment that helps them live more independently. It's meaningful, practical work — and the people who do it best aren't necessarily those with the longest CVs. They're the ones who can walk into someone's home, put them at ease, and genuinely care about getting it right.
We’re looking for a Field Services Technician to join our Preventative Maintenance team. We can teach you the technical side — the equipment, systems, and processes. What matters most to us is something we can’t train: your natural ability to connect with people.
We’re looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and genuinely client-focused —who understands that every interaction shapes how our clients feel about our service. Your ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and create a positive experience will be as important as the technical work you do.
Your career pathway
This role is designed as a starting point. As you build confidence and capability, there's a clear path forward.
You'll start in preventative maintenance — servicing and checking equipment in clients' homes across the Auckland region. We provide a comprehensive training programme and you'll be supported by an experienced team from day one. A company vehicle and full tool set are provided once your training is complete.
What a typical day looks like
Most of your day is spent in the field — travelling between clients across Auckland, carrying out scheduled maintenance on mobility and rehabilitation equipment. You'll work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. No two days are quite the same, and every visit matters to the person you're helping.
What we're looking for
We hire for character first. Here's what will set you apart:
- Warm, easy-going manner — you're comfortable in people's homes and can build trust quickly
- Patience and empathy — our clients are navigating real challenges, and your calm presence matters
- Curiosity and a practical mindset — you like figuring out how things work and take pride in doing a job properly
- Reliability and organisation — you manage your time and show up when people are counting on you
- Strong communicator — clear and confident with clients, comfortable using basic tech and mobile tools
- A full, clean NZ driver's licence
Why Accessable?
You'll finish each day knowing your work genuinely improved someone's quality of life. Our team culture is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in real purpose. We're a welcoming and inclusive workplace that values lived experience and diverse perspectives — and we're committed to helping you grow with us.
Is this you?
If you bring energy, integrity, and a genuine drive to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you. To help your application stand out, use your cover letter to tell us more about who you are — why you’re the right fit for our team, what sets you apart, and how your skills, experience, and attitude will enable you to make a meaningful impact from day one.
Please note:
- You must have the right to work in New Zealand and be willing to undergo a Criminal History Check.
- Overseas applications will not be considered.
