Abut the role
As a Principal Product Application Engineer (m/f/d), you will work on developing and validating advanced SiC-based solutions, turning cutting-edge semiconductor technology into real-world applications. You will collaborate with global teams, support customers, and help drive new products to market, combining hands-on engineering with strong application insight.
What you will do
- Design power electronics platforms using SiC technologies
- Run and analyze testing and validation of power systems
- Build demo systems and present solutions to customers
- Support product go-to-market and customer design-in activities
- Create and deliver technical presentations, training, and webinars
- Help shape next-generation semiconductor performance through application insights
- Support device testing, characterization, and modelling
- Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and universities
- Work in a global, multicultural team
What you will bring
- M.Sc. Degree or higher in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
- 5+ years in the semiconductor industry (power applications focus; WBG preferred)
- Strong experience in hardware design for SiC, GaN, and IGBT applications
- Knowledge of thermal/mechanical design, gate driving, and inductance optimization
- Skilled in measurements, testing, and high-voltage lab environments
- Solid experience with PCB design, simulation, and power module design
- Able to connect device physics, converter design, and customer needs
- Good communication skills; fluent in English (German is a plus)
- Hands-on approach and willingness to travel occasionally
