Location - Parramatta
Employment type - Temporary opportunity until 30th June 2028
Salary – Clerk Grade 9/10, $129,464.00-$142,665.00 plus superannuation and leave loading
Your role
The purpose of this role is to manage local communication and engagement, ensuring tenant outcomes are at the centre of local community engagement.
This role will require extensive site visits across various Sydney locations and in some cases multiple site visits per day.
What you’ll do
As the work of this role will relate to the division’s strategic direction, the Engagement Manager will need to effectively manage relevant stakeholder relationships and develop and implement community engagement plans to ensure they adhere with Housing Portfolio requirements.
The responsibilities of this position will also include:
- Ensuring stakeholders are consulted during plans at the appropriate level and time and are provided with up-to-date information, and a clear understanding of Housing Portfolio project objectives and benefits
- Collaborating with the broader Portfolio Management (Assets) Engagement teams to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to government and senior stakeholder relationships, media, issues management and marketing
- Building and sustaining solid relationships with a vast network of key internal and external stakeholders, working towards mutually beneficial outcomes in order to facilitate and foster their involvement in the development of project activities
- Keeping up to date with engagement progress and maintaining awareness of community issues and concerns to develop proactive communications and thereby reduce the likelihood of issues arising
- Managing the preparation, production, and release of public information, including newsletters, maintenance updates, corporate brochures, presentation materials, and articles, website, community and stakeholder correspondence and relevant briefing materials
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Current driver’s licence
- Ability and willingness to conduct multiple site visits per day across consecutive days
- Ability to work from the Parramatta office at least 50% of the time each month and attend multiple site visits across Sydney, including areas such as Sydney City, Inner West, Bankstown and Liverpool as needed.
In addition to the essential requirements, the successful candidate will have:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Out of the box creative thinking skills
- The ability to adapt to differing personalities and build a rapport
- High attention to detail
- A professional demeanour
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to lead, encourage and manage others
- Experience and knowledge of escalated complaints management from a tenancy and maintenance perspective.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement at a political level (e.g. Ministers, Members of Parliament, and Councillors).
