Job Summary Reporting to the Director, Safety, this position supports aviation safety at Porter Airlines through oversight of its Quality Assurance Program. System Quality Assurance monitors compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and defined operational needs; evaluates the effectiveness of safety risk controls. Duties & Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assure compliance with all regulatory requirements for aviation quality assurance and with the IATA operational safety audit program Lead the company’s IOSA conformance team in its preparations for regular renewal audits In concert with the company’s SMS program, make recommendations for the selection of audit projects based on company safety performance; administer the SQA audit schedule Disseminate information as appropriate to ensure organizational awareness of relevant quality issues and results Conduct the evaluation of the safety critical processes of alliance partners that are relevant to Porter aircraft and recommend appropriate risk management strategies Maintain the Porter Audit Manual and related documentation in accordance with Transport Canada and IOSA SMS requirements Manage a team of system quality assurance auditors assuring strict adherence to audit principles The conduct of training relevant to audit processes Maintain the confidentiality of organizational safety reporting systems Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) by identifying and reporting workplace hazards and promoting a safe work environment. Qualifications Excellent working knowledge of Transport Canada and IATA requirements for aviation quality assurance A minimum of ten years of working experience in commercial flight or aircraft maintenance operations Management level experience interacting with the IATA operational safety audit program Current qualification as an aviation lead or internal auditor Previous participation in a Risk-Based IOSA audit conducted by IATA Knowledge and demonstrated experience of auditing principles, procedures and methods Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail A working background in project management An IOSA Internal Auditor Advanced Diploma or related academic degree Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance Must maintain a valid passport; must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required on short notice Location Toronto (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport - YTZ) #LI-Hybrid Company Description Since 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
