What You Will Do:
As a Class A CDL Driver at Nix Industrial, you'll play an important role in keeping our operations moving. You'll safely transport materials, equipment, and fabricated components between Nix facilities and customer locations while representing our company in a professional manner. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, independence throughout the workday, and the opportunity to be part of a growing, family-owned company with over 120 years of history.
How You Will Do It:
LOCATION: Poseyville, IN
REPORTS TO: Transportation Manager, Kane Schmitt
What You Will Do:
As a Class A CDL Driver at Nix Industrial, you'll play an important role in keeping our operations moving. You'll safely transport materials, equipment, and fabricated components between Nix facilities and customer locations while representing our company in a professional manner. This position offers a variety of responsibilities, independence throughout the workday, and the opportunity to be part of a growing, family-owned company with over 120 years of history.
How You Will Do It:
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles and flatbed trailers.
- Secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company standards.
- Transport materials between Nix locations and customer sites.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes.
- Maintain cleanliness and care of assigned equipment.
- Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and fellow team members.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with additional logistics and transportation-related tasks as needed.
The Position Requires:
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Valid DOT Physical.
- Minimum age of 21.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- No DUI or reckless driving convictions within the past three years.
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely secure and transport various types of loads.
- Commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.
