Account Manager (Bilingual - German/English)
Job Description
Cactus Life Sciences partners with the global biopharma industry to drive innovation and elevate patient outcomes through agile, science-driven medical communications.
We are seeking an Account Manager (AM) who thrives in a client-facing environment and is comfortable wearing more than one hat. The AM will independently manage accounts and standard projects, while supporting complex accounts under senior guidance, and ensure that organisational KPIs and client expectations are met. While the role is primarily focused on Account Management, it also encompasses event management responsibilities. If you bring event experience, all the better and if not, we will support you in building it. What we care about most is your background in medical communications and the attitude you bring to work.
Location & Work Model: This role is based in Meggen, Switzerland, on a hybrid model with a minimum of 1 day per week in the office. We welcome applications from candidates currently based anywhere in Europe who are open to relocating to Switzerland. Please note that relocation support is not provided as part of this offer.
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned accounts and events, building strong, trust-based client relationships and providing consultancy across the full event lifecycle
- Support the development and execution of Key Account Plans, scopes of work, and engagement strategies, while identifying organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and supporting the senior team on proposals
- Monitor project timelines, quality, and financials, maintain accurate CRM records, and ensure monthly reporting is accurate and up to date
- Collaborate with Medical Account Leads and senior Client Service colleagues to ensure alignment between scientific content, event logistics, and strategic account objectives
- Proactively gather client feedback, flag risks early, capture post-event learnings, and contribute to the continuous improvement of delivery standards and account health
- Coordinate with external agencies and vendors including registration partners, travel agencies, venues, and production suppliers to ensure aligned timelines and quality delivery
- Manage participant communications, registration tracking, hotel and travel coordination, HCP communication, contract administration, and honoraria coordination in full compliance with FMV principles and applicable transparency regulations
- Travel to events and client meetings as required (may include weekend travels)
- Native or near-native proficiency in both German and English
- Bachelor’s degree with experience in medical communications or the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2+ years in an agency, ideally as a Senior Account Executive or 3+ years in project/account management
- Strong understanding of the medical communications landscape, including governing body guidelines
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously with a high level of organisation and attention to detail
- Commercially aware with an understanding of KPIs, financial reporting, and account performance metrics
- A confident communicator who builds relationships with ease, remains calm under pressure, and takes ownership of their work
- Enthusiasm for events and a willingness to develop expertise in event logistics and delegate management; prior experience is a plus but not required
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project), and open to working with AI tools and digital platforms
- 30 days of annual leaves
- Mobile Phone Allowance
- Transport and Parking Support
- Free Coffee/Tea at the office
Before applying, please ensure you meet the role requirements listed above and have legal authorization to work in the country where this role is advertised. Our process starts with a call with our Global Talent Acquisition specialist, followed by a virtual interview with the hiring team. If you progress to the final stage, we would love to welcome you to our Meggen office to meet the broader team in person. However, for candidates who are not local, we are equally happy to keep the entire process virtual.
AI at Cactus Life Sciences
The life sciences industry is undergoing a fundamental shift in how scientific knowledge is created, communicated, and delivered. We are building our work around it.
AI is embedded meaningfully across everything we do, through proprietary platforms purpose-built for life sciences and generative tools that deliver measurable value to our clients. It is core to how we operate, and an expected way of working for everyone who joins us.
We believe in Human-Anchored AI™: whatever your discipline - science, communications, strategy, or operations, you will work in an environment where AI augments your expertise rather than replaces it.
You will build skills that are in genuine demand and still taking shape across the industry. If you are curious and focused on building capabilities for the world where human intelligence meets artificial intelligence, this is where you belong.
