Job Description

Compensation: $18.00 – $25.87 per hour (Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.)

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

  • Greet arriving oncology patients, verify their identities, guide visitors, and manage waiting areas to eliminate long delays.
  • Pre-verify insurance, emergency contacts, and demographic info ahead of schedule to minimize patient wait times.
  • Collect professional and facility co-pays, scan insurance cards, securely obtain HIPAA signatures, and accurately update Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Coordinate directly with schedulers and care teams to resolve immediate check-in issues, routing phone calls and alerting staff to patient delays.
  • Partner with navigation staff to spot patients needing financial assistance, smoothly routing applications and emergency transit gas cards to them.

 

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required (AAS degree in health administration, business, or finance preferred).
  • 1 year of healthcare or insurance experience is preferred, but open to any strong customer service background.
  • Excellent typing, computer navigation, and phone etiquettes are required.
  • Proactive problem solver, exceptionally empathetic, and highly organized under pressure.
  • Familiarity with baseline medical terminology or anatomy is a plus, but not mandatory.
