Position Summary
The Front Desk Associate serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive experience from check-in through check-out. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to multitask while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion
- Check patients in and out efficiently and accurately
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required documentation
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Collect copays, balances, and process payments
- Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Assist with administrative and clerical duties as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical office or healthcare front desk experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency with computers and EMR systems
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
