Coastal Health Next Step is seeking a compassionate, professional, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. We are an addiction medicine practice dedicated to helping individuals on their recovery journey through respectful, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, nonjudgmental, and committed to creating a welcoming environment for every patient who walks through our doors.

Position Summary

As the first point of contact for our patients, the Front Desk Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring a positive experience. This position requires excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interact with patients in a supportive and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
• Verify insurance information and collect patient documentation
• Check patients in and out for appointments
• Maintain accurate patient records and protect confidential information
• Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
• Coordinate communication between patients and clinical staff
• Assist with general administrative and office support duties
• Help create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive environment for patients in recovery

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous medical office, front desk, or customer service experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical scheduling and electronic health records is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
• Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused mindset
• Experience working with behavioral health, mental health, or addiction treatment populations is preferred but not required
