Medical Assistant – Coastal Health

Coastal Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing  team in Middleburg, Florida. This position is ideal for a team-oriented professional who is passionate about patient care and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring a positive patient experience. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Room and prepare patients for provider evaluations and procedures
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and medication information
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and office procedures
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
• Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments
• Manage clinical supplies and assist with inventory control
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all patient confidentiality requirements
• Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient flow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
• Previous experience in a medical office, orthopedic, spine, pain management, or specialty practice preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
• Strong communication and patient service skills
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail
• Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
