The team is recruiting a Senior Investment Officer in Rome, Italy to develop and oversee new business with European clients working in or moving into emerging markets focused on the manufacturing, agribusiness forestry, health education, tourism, and retail property sectors. He/she will design strategies and actively support new business development through managing relationships with existing clients and extending the network of new and potential clients in Italy and selected European countries. The overall goal of the Senior Investment Officer is to maximize the impact of IFC’s interventions and corporate objectives by developing innovative, developmental, and profitable investments for MAS. Duties and Accountabilities: • Lead the business development activities in the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS) sectors in Italy and selected countries in Europe, ensuring alignment with IFC’s strategic priorities and development impact goals. • Develop and maintain a strong relationship of trust with senior executives in private sector clients, government stakeholders, and development partners to foster collaboration and expand IFC’s investment pipeline. • Provide leadership in offering the right product mix and value proposition to prospective clients, negotiating complex investment agreements, ensuring optimal terms and conditions that balance client needs with IFC’s financial and developmental objectives. • Champion financing and upstream solutions and structures to address challenges in the MAS sectors, leveraging IFC’s resources and expertise to maximize impact. • Represent IFC in high-level engagements, including industry conferences, client meetings, and policy discussions, to advocate for private sector development and investment in MAS sectors. • Contribute to the development and implementation of sector strategies and corporate initiatives, ensuring alignment with IFC’s global priorities and regional objectives. • Maintain close and daily key client account management and address urgent client issues that require close-at-hand input. • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes professional growth and knowledge sharing. • Uphold IFC’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards in all investment activities, promoting sustainable and responsible business practices.
